Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? Empty Revive!, But not Keep it Alive???

Post by Winter Lite 2nd August 2012, 19:24

Hi there Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? 2317702173 I can't believe that I'm actually posting this just after the whole year (during the batch 13). Better late than never right? Smile

From the past year until the next regeneration, division task of International Network division is always "Revive blogs and forums" or somewhat like that. I fancy that some users (including me) were only active during the Pre-LMT 'era'. I think it isn't supposed to be like that because I would like to assure you what benefits can we get if we actively use this forum :

1) Attract non-eASY's members to join this forum and one of the media to improve the quality of our English.

For example that we post a section which is exclusively talks about the materials to the 10th, 11th, and 12th graders,or even more advanced English. It's just like english-test.net (check the link later yaahh!!)~ The materials can be very widely vary. And I think it's okay that we quote some of the materials from the english-test.net because when the members ask for unclear explanations, they ask us as SMANSA students and eASY's members that I believe that it's what others choices rather than asking outside the forum (Well maybe some of them will do that because they're already expertise and etc.) *with quoting source.

2) Discussing future events outside the formal and informal meeting in the school.

While not every member can go to school (or uncommonly other places), they can online with this forum, using the chat and discuss about the events. My opinion is like this : Suppose that after the formal/informal meeting, we 'jarkom' every member to be online at a specific time to discuss about it and assure members that not going to the meeting isn't always to be "gabut" or sth.

3) [etc anyone wants to add??]

What I'm trying to say here, during the pre-LMT and after it, please be active in the forum and use it effectively as we already acknowledge it. I as the TS (Thread Starter) also try to be the best to be active here. Let us dismantle our culture of 'Revivals' as it is seemed to be inactive previously. Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? 1666600104

*TS's thoughts are between : - Revival : Bringing to be active again.
- Revival : Enhanced ; Improve ; Strenghten

Whatever it is, it is TRUE that most of us abandon this forum, and let's get back to the 'distracting' quote above Very Happy

BATCH 14!! BATCH 13!! 12!! Alumni!! and FUTURE LEADERS AND MEMBERS OF eASY!!! Let us revive this forum! And 'feed' it to make it stay alive!! Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? 2150982279

SPEAK UP and TELL YOUR OPINION! x))))))

P.S : Apology for mistakes Smile

It is true that the forum's periodic activity (which is merely upon the regeneration period because it offers a simple way to reduce the PP - it's so simple that people often felt lazy to do it - and everyone can keep track of the remaining PP) is not something the forum creators' intent.

It's supposed to support dialogue among eASY members whenever they are, especially regarding events, in case of some not really urgent things, because eASY's page and group were not really effective. Unfortunately some problems hampered and eventually shut that idea.

I assume that the problems are either the bad image of the forum (because most members checked the forum for PP) or the unfamiliarity of forum system among eASY members, and I believe that it's more to the latter (taking the cute banner into account). So, what can we do about it?

I actually love the phrase "feed [the forum]", because it is true that without proper "foods" (posts/interactions), this forum will not be alive. A suggestion to make the forum barely lives: start sharing eASY-related news to the forum (be it internal announcement, regeneration period's assignments, or competition news). Do not limit it to eASY's Twitter account or Facebook group. I know they are way more convenient for everyone, but extra efforts always pay off well.

Do not forget that this forum is eASY's forum, so do not refrain to do anything on the forum to make yourself (and your batch) comfortable here. Hopefully we will see the forum awakes from its coma.

P.S.
Not gonna comment on the mistakes.

True to that, I was hoping that this forum would be the place where members of eASY (including former members) could communicate with each other, especially on subjects that are so unimportant to talk about in real life, but on the other hand, is vital in getting to know each other better. Things like your interest, hobby, likes and dislikes, are often considered petty and unimportant but could potentially be a strong tool in bonding with each other. Examples may include the unhealthy interest of Glee in many of my batch's member LOL.

About making this forum a media for learning English, I don't think a lot of people would access this forum because of that, but the intention is good. If this issue will be taken seriously, I would gladly help in one or other ways. Just make a subforum or something Very Happy

All in all, I am so glad to see new post in this almost-forgotten forum, somehow it brought little parts of the euphoria I once had in eASY back. Just PM or contact me if you need anything, TS~

*P.S. I can't really remember, did my batch pioneered this forum or it's already there before? =))

That's why this forum has 'Free Lounge' ; Where insubstantial things, are simply fun! Also with some light discussions could vary this forum, not only about the eASY itself.... This is eASY's forum! Not just restricted only by so-called substantial subjects all the time Very Happy

As I suggest, that maybe we can post materials like grammars, vocabs, fun facts, etc. YES!! SUBFORUM x) And actually we, Batch 14, haven't discussed together about this yet, but this could be a nice discussion to be talked about xD

We're really sorry if we didn't make this forum really active. Actually, We've asked the other members to can use this forum as one of our media to communicate and share each others. But yeah, We've got a problem because maybe.. They are lazy to open or access this forum. So, this forum can't be optimal as We hoped before.

We know that It's our mistakes.. We're really sorry...
Thanks for your suggestions...
We hope, We will fix our mistakes..

@Batch13

It's not entirely your mistake, IMHO. It's also true that not many highschool students are familiar with foruming, and I do know how hard it is to introduce foruming to a person who's completely unfamiliar with it, furthermore with a forum that's new and unpopulated.

Well it's everybody's lesson and the new batch 14 are encouraged to try and keep the forum alive, more and more people are familiar with this forum now, you have 3 batches before you that have tried, so feel free to ask for help Very Happy.

@WinterLite

Yea, I know about the free lounge, I made it back in the days LOL. Or is it Male? =))

We made it (the forum), Fiz #snob Our batch is just that visionary #chauvinism I forgot who created the Free Lounge, but it's gotta be in our batch! #chauvinism

Ok, the real post starts here:
I see that the banner has changed. Aw, I miss the old one.

This is the real post:
As a matter of fact, because you (the new batch) is going through the Pre-LMT period, why don't you challenge the committee for more PRP? Say, if you can manage a healthy forum for a month (or until LMT), then your batch will get 300 PRP! The indicators of a healthy forum would be at least 5 posts per day, discussing about the pre-LMT materials or other substantial things. In short, your batch only have to post constructively 5 times a day, and you get double PRP by the end of the month~! Consider it, and you're not reading it from me.

Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? Empty Gah

Post by selleh 8th August 2012, 21:51

First of all, I have to say that the posts in this thread has long contents. (...)
After going through some struggle to read all the post carefully why are you guys using such difficult English? What is Chauvinism? #choked I could say that I also hope that this forum stays active all the year, not only for the sake of reducing PP or doing IN's division task but also as the mean of communication.

First of all, IT'S FREE.
Come on guys, who could resist free things? Texting people costs more money. Even if you don't have internet connection at your house, going to warnet is cheaper than buying pulsa that costs Rp10.000. Very Happy
In forum we could also communicate with many people at once. not only to our batch, but we could also talk to our cool alumnus.
And we don't only train our English but we could also train our memory about BBcode and HTML code here. Who knows if it would become useful for our TIK lesson.
So yeah, we should use this forum effectively and it would help us greatly in the future.
Revive!, But not Keep it Alive??? 2259596472

And I think the Forum's header is fine. Very Happy #eaa
